Are You Responsible?

Updated: Oct 10, 2023

Responsibility Statistics

In a nationwide independent survey, respondents were polled about the roles and responsibilities of building owners to provide a protective solution for their tenants in an active shooter event. As employees are heading back into the office again while mass shooting incidents are simultaneously on the rise, concerns are high about workplace safety.

If a protective solution to an active shooter situation exists, is it the owner’s job to provide it for their tenants and employees? Is it negligent if such a solution exists, but is not implemented in the building?

The overwhelming majority of folks responded that yes, it is the building owner’s duty to provide a protective solution to an active shooter situation. Similarly, respondents agree that is would be considered negligent for a building owner to not offer a protective solution if an option existed on the market.

Adding a Shellter™ system to your office space should be akin to equipping a space with fire extinguishers and smoke detectors—it will provide a sense of safety and security just by being there, while simultaneously hoping to never have the need arise to use it. As mass shootings continue to rise, do you want to be held liable for the damages incurred on your property? Mitigate your risks, release yourself from liability, and protect your employees by calling Shellter™.
